Q&A - commissioning me to create a portRait for you!
It might seem a bit daunting considering to commission an artwork, particularly if you have never done it before. So I thought I’d take you through the process and how it works if you commission me.
1. Contact me! You can submit a e-form on my page (The form can be found in the ‘Contact’ link at the top of the page) or you can Direct Message me via any of my social media pages. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have around requesting a commission so please, whether it’s discussing ideas you have, regarding pricing or even a general query, NEVER be afraid to ask me for some more information.
2. Send me your reference photos! The higher quality the photo you send, the more details I can include in the drawing. But if you have a lower quality photo, don’t fret! I can’t still work with that no problem. I can even combine multiple photos of different people if you don’t have one of them all together.
3. I’ll get started! Once we have agreed on the details, discussed deposits and you are happy, I’ll let you know the next steps and get working. I’ll keep you updated on my progress and work towards your deadline. Drawings usually take me a couple of weeks but I can often work faster if required.
4. Post time! When your commission is finished and you’re happy with how it is looking, I’ll get it posted to you. All artwork is packaged in non-acidic parcel paper, bubble wrap and a sturdy cardboard postage tube. I also track all orders and will provide you with your tracking number once available.
I hope this helps answer some burning questions you might have! If there is anything I have missed, please ask away!! A final note - All artists really value and appreciate our clients putting their trust in us and every time we get a new commission it really does mean a lot! 🧡
